Home Services For U ("we", "us", "our") is an independent online marketplace that connects residents with local home-service professionals across the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

• Account information — your name, email address, phone number, and password. Accounts are created and secured through Amazon Cognito.
• Vendor business information — for service providers: business name, type, address, services offered, pricing, photos, and hours of operation.
• Service addresses — the address where a booking is to be performed. Street addresses are validated using Google's address service.
• Bookings and transactions — the services you book or provide, dates, amounts, and status.
• Payment information — card payments and vendor bank-account details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not see or store full card numbers or bank-account numbers.
• Communications and content — reviews, ratings, feedback, and messages you send to us.
• Technical data — device, browser, IP address, and usage information collected automatically when you use the site.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• create and manage your account and vendor or resident profile
• list vendors and enable residents to find and book services
• process bookings, payments, and vendor payouts
• send transactional email and SMS updates about your account and bookings
• provide customer support and resolve disputes
• detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• analyze and improve the platform
• comply with applicable legal obligations

SMS / Text Messaging

Information We Collect: When you create an account on Home Services For U as a resident or vendor, we collect the mobile phone number you provide during signup.

How We Use Your Phone Number: We use your mobile phone number to send transactional SMS (text message) notifications related to service requests, quotes, bookings, and service completion updates on Home Services For U. These messages help keep you informed about activity on your account.

Consent: You explicitly opt in to receive SMS messages during account signup by checking the SMS consent checkbox. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of using the Home Services For U platform or of any purchase.

No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your SMS opt-in data or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

Opt-Out: You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. If you need assistance, reply HELP to any message for help information.

Message Frequency and Costs: Message frequency varies based on your activity on the platform (for example, submitting or receiving service requests). Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Data Retention: We retain your phone number and SMS consent records for as long as your account remains active, or as required by applicable law. If you delete your account, we will remove your phone number and consent records within 30 days, unless retention is required for legal or compliance purposes.

Service providers we work with

We share information only as needed with the providers that help us operate the platform:

• Amazon Web Services — hosting, database, file storage, and email delivery.
• Stripe — payment processing and vendor payouts.
• Google — address validation and, in production, aggregate website analytics.
• Error-monitoring services — to detect and diagnose technical problems.

These providers may process your information only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference. In production we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymized page usage so we can improve the site.

Data retention and security

We retain account, booking, and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed afterward for legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes. Your information is stored on secured Amazon Web Services infrastructure.

Your choices and rights

You can review and update your profile information at any time in the app. You may opt out of SMS messages by replying STOP. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, contact us using the email below.

Children

Home Services For U is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18 years of age.
